In late 2020, Reena embarked upon an exciting new initiative, aptly named GReena. The focus of this initiative is sustainability. The goal is to improve the lives of individuals with neuro-diverse needs supported by Reena, as well as the greater community while reducing our ecological footprint.
GReena is culturally aligned, guided by Jewish values and cognizant of our land stewardship as passed down by first nation and inclusive, involving a diverse community, including but not limited to Reena-supported individuals.
GReena’s three major focus areas are:
- Reena Community Farm (Food Self Sufficiency)
- Renewable Energy
- Reuse, Reduce, Recycle
Reena Community Farm
The “Reena Community Farm” (RCF) aims to promote sustainable agriculture, at our residential and intentional community locations, as well as community involvement in various neighbourhoods around the Greater Toronto Area.

The Renewable Energy initiative focuses on expanding the use of solar panels across Reena’s organization. By harnessing solar energy, we will contribute to our sustainability goals while generating revenue to support our mission, demonstrating a commitment to environmental and financial sustainability.

In recognizing the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), GReena is answering the call to promote prosperity whilst protecting our planet by implementing the UN SDG goals.
