Community Participation Programs
Individuals with complex needs, mental health diagnoses, Supported Individual Living (SIL), and seniors can now participate in activities they enjoy that cater to their unique interests. The new Community Participation Program model offers a comprehensive range of activities that are tailored to meet the needs of individuals supported by Reena in York Region and Toronto.
The New Model
We are moving beyond traditional day programming to support our individuals’ well‑being.
Our new model goes beyond the Monday to Friday, 9 am – 3:00 pm program model we previously exclusively offered. Community Participation Programs offer an individualized model that caters to the unique interests and schedules of each person we support. This new programming is intended to help and enrich the lives of the individuals we support.
Meaningful Programming Tailored to Individuals
Programs designed to have a meaningful impact on the lives of the individuals we support.
Reena has made changes to its program service delivery model based on feedback from families and in response to the social isolation caused by the pandemic. The previous day program format required all residents to attend the Battle Centre from 9 am to 3 pm, but our new model offers more flexibility and choice. The Program Facilitators design and facilitate programming and activities based on the interests, preferences, locations, and schedules of each individual.
Programs Close to Home
Flexible program offerings across York Region and Toronto locations.
The new model aims to provide flexible program offerings for the individuals we support. Our programming extends across Toronto and York Region at different locations. Most of our programs also have a virtual option for added flexibility. The new model makes programming accessible to all residents, including those with complex needs, mental health diagnoses, supported Individual Living (SIL), seniors and those who could not afford the program fees before.
How It Works
The new model prioritizes personal preferences to enhance our individuals' quality of life when seeking support services. Here is how the application process works:
Once you contact us, you can expect a response from a social worker.
We will schedule an intake session to gather information and supporting documents.
We review your information and respond within 2 weeks. If approved, we will provide a program schedule.
Now your Community Participation Program begins!
