It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Reena Foundation Board member, Madeleine “Maddie” Bodenstein.

Maddie was a staunch supporter of our mission to improve the lives of individuals with developmental and other disabilities. She was a true champion for inclusion, generosity, and community.

Maddie gave her time, talents, and heart to so many of our initiatives.

She played a vital role in our fundraising efforts, first and foremost as co-chair of several Galas; all of which were incredibly successful. Most recently, she co-chaired Reena’s 50th Anniversary Gala, helping to make this milestone celebration truly unforgettable. She was a proud supporter of our annual Striking for Reena bowling event, rallying her family team, the “Bowlensteins”, to participate and make a difference.

Maddie had many different areas of expertise which she employed to assist us at every opportunity. She excelled at donor stewardship and government relations. She chaired our Nominations Committee, provided real estate valuations and even pre-planned funerals for Reena supported individuals to make the process less painful for families and staff.

We have lost a beloved member of our Reena family. We will miss her professionalism, warmth, clarity and humour.

We extend our deepest, heartfelt condolences to her husband Kenny, her children, and the extended Bodenstein and Oldacre families.

May the family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim and her memory be for a blessing.
