Ontario Partnership on Aging & Developmental Disabilities (OPADD)
Centred Content
The Ontario Partnership on Aging & Developmental Disabilities (OPADD) is a ground-breaking informal partnership of service providers in the continuum of seniors services and developmental disabilities. This includes regional committees, local cross sector pilot projects, provincial associations, planning bodies, educational institutions, researchers and policy-makers.
Reena plays a leading role, bringing together two crucial sectors: developmental disabilities and seniors. Through proactive community development strategies, Reena has fostered cross-sector dialogue, resulting in several significant provincial initiatives. These initiatives include providing essential training, knowledge-sharing networks, regional workshops, and improving access to services. Reena’s commitment to this endeavor is driven by its dedication to promoting and sustaining a dialogue that upholds and enhances the quality of life for older adults with developmental disabilities.
The focus is on ensuring that these individuals have equitable access to support and services, mirroring the broader senior population. This Reena-led partnership actively supports the development of cross-sector dialogue and collaborates with regional committees, works on testing innovative support models, and influences public policy to address the aging needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Through these efforts, Reena continues to make a significant impact on this vital issue.
