As Prime Minister Justin Trudeau prepares to step down, Reena extends appreciation for the significant impact of the Liberal government’s social policies on individuals with developmental disabilities across Canada.
Under Prime Minister Trudeau’s tenure, individuals with developmental disabilities were meaningfully included in the National Housing Strategy and the National Dementia Strategy, ensuring access to crucial housing and healthcare supports. Through these initiatives, Reena developed innovative housing models and expanded essential services, making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
The bipartisan support Reena and our sector receive was epitomized when, at our annual Intentional Community Consortium day on the Hill, the Prime Minister rose in the house to recognize our sector work, and all his house colleagues on all sides of the aisle stood in support.
Bryan Keshen, CEO of Reena, noted, “Prime Minister Trudeau’s leadership has played a pivotal role in ensuring that these individuals are supported, housed, and included in national strategies that will continue to impact lives for years to come.”
As Canada prepares for new leadership, Reena remains dedicated to advocating for policies that support vulnerable populations and look forward to continuing meaningful collaborations with the federal government to build a more inclusive and supportive society.
