Reena in partnership with the NTG-Canadian Consortium (https://www.the-ntg.org/canadian-consortium-news) is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant of more than $400,000 from the Government of Canada’s Dementia Strategic Fund (DSF) initiative to develop the “Canadian Guide for Community Care and Supports for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities Affected by Dementia”.
Our project, is the only one of 23 projects funded by Healthy Canadians Public Health Agency of Canada Fund that focuses on people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and dementia, reflecting our dedication to improving dementia care in Canada. This project will update and adapt guidance for people living with dementia, especially those with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), from a Canadian perspective.
The Guide will presented at the 3rd Annual Canadian Health and Wellbeing in Developmental Disabilities (HWDD) Conference.
We thank the Government of Canada for this opportunity and look forward to working with our partners and stakeholders on this important project. Stay tuned for more updates!
