The overall objective of the project was to describe successful physical space and design arrangements in housing for Ontarians with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who exhibit exceptional behaviours that challenge (BTC). The multidisciplinary project team (architect, psychologists, nurse, occupational and physical therapists) used
different methods to collect and analyze data on housing accommodations, and created a practical tool that can be used by stakeholders to guide future decisions
related to physical space adaptations.
