Big congrats to co-author Sandy Stemp, Chief Operations Officer, Reena, for this outstanding work! The study summarizes discussions from a November 2023 international Think Tank in Vancouver, bringing together self-advocates, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and community providers to shape future care strategies.
Key Highlights from the Abstract:
• Convened November 23–25, 2023, to address the rising needs of older autistic adults and adults with intellectual disabilities through an international lens (bmcproc.biomedcentral.com).
• Diverse delegates—from lived experience advocates to healthcare experts—prioritized guidelines spanning person-centered care, preventive health, interprofessional collaboration, communication, life transitions, mental health, dementia, and abuse prevention (bmcproc.biomedcentral.com).
