In an inspiring display of community collaboration and efficiency, Reena and the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJWC Toronto) partnered this year to prepare and deliver Passover food boxes to needy people. This initiative is a testament to the power of inclusion, bringing together individuals of all abilities to support vulnerable members of the Jewish community.
With a shared commitment to service, Reena and NCJWC Toronto ensure no one is left behind this Passover. Reena-supported individuals are active participants in this initiative and also take a leadership role in assembling and organizing the boxes, demonstrating that inclusion is about empowerment and contribution.
“Our collaboration with Reena is a perfect example of community members coming together to lift each other up,” said Robin Gofine, NCJWC Toronto Chief Executive Director. “The dedication and enthusiasm of Reena-supported individuals in preparing these Passover food boxes remind us that acts of kindness know no barriers.”
“This initiative is inclusion at its best,” said Bryan Keshen, Reena’s CEO. “At Reena, we believe everyone has the right to contribute and be valued. Seeing the individuals we support take such an active role in giving back to the community is truly inspiring.”
One of Reena’s guiding principles, attributed to Hillel, is the timeless idea – ‘If I am only for myself, who am I?’ This belief fuels the organization’s quick response and proactive approach to addressing the community’s needs. When NCJWC TORONTO sought partners for this initiative, Reena responded immediately, embodying its ‘can-do’ attitude and commitment to making a tangible difference.
Reena and NCJWC Toronto highlight the importance of working together to strengthen the community through this joint effort. Their collaboration ensures that individuals in need receive essential holiday support while reinforcing the value of meaningful inclusion and participation for all.
