We are excited on this occasion to announce the launch of the NTG–Canadian Consortium’s website. For us, this launch is another meaningful step toward meeting the goals of the Consortium: strengthening dementia-capable supports for adults with intellectual disabilities, and advancing the knowledge, tools, and connections that help people live well.

Dementia is a difficult journey for most people—a road not to be taken alone or in isolation. Raising awareness, providing information, and actively supporting each other are key to improving dementia care across Canada in ways that fully include adults with intellectual disabilities affected by dementia, their families, and the staff who support them every day.

This new website was built with you in mind—front-line staff, supervisors, agency leaders, educators, and community partners. It offers clear pathways to training, practical tools, and curated resources—organized for adults with an intellectual disability, family caregivers, and service providers—so you can quickly find what you need and put it into action. You’ll also find access to Canadian guidance and education, including resources that support stronger community dementia care, as well as information about the NTG Canada curriculum and upcoming workshops.

Just as importantly, the website is one means for us to share ideas and concerns across provinces and across the country. It will continue to evolve and change to meet unmet or new needs, and we welcome your input as it grows.

We are also deeply grateful to the many people behind the scenes who helped tremendously to build this site. Their guidance and support were unwavering.

Please join us in celebrating this milestone—visit ntgcanada.org, explore and share the resources with your teams, and help improve lives well-lived over the course of dementia.
