This course outlines issues and methods in the field and introduces the contribution of various disciplines to an understanding of the aging process.

St. Lawrence College: DEVE 2 – Aging and Developmental Services
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with some of the issues affecting elderly people in general and those with developmental disabilities in particular. Areas discussed include physical and health concerns, mental health concerns, and psycho-social concerns. As well, students will develop basic knowledge and skills for assisting older adults with therapeutic and diversional activities to meet their diverse leisure needs.
